Rate of aftercare increased to 90%
Bad Doberan,
Dr. Ebel Specialist Clinic
The mission
In 2019, only 8% of patients received aftercare at the Moorbad Bad Doberan Clinic.
Long travel times and distancing regulations due to the pandemic exacerbated the issue. Patient loyalty plummeted. Our aim was to stabilise therapy success rates and increase the proportion of patients taking up the aftercare offer to 90%.
Implementation
The teletherapy platform Caspar was implemented in 5 steps during the first lockdown in March 2020, and was then launched successfully with patients.
Telerehabilitationaftercare concept submitted to the DRV
System set-up and designation of a Caspar telerehabilitation aftercare representative
Therapeutic and medical staff trained prior to launch
Integration of telerehabilitation aftercare into the clinic’s rehabilitation and aftercare concept
Installation of a Caspar exercise area in the Medical Training room, as well as wireless network access at selected locations in the clinic.
The key to success was that the medical team regarded the new form of therapy as a great opportunity, both for the clinic and its patients.
By integrating individual and group therapy, the team ensured that their work and the resulting rehabilitation successes were stabilised.

Digital therapy is an innovative solution that our staff are happy to work with. The demand for telerehabilitation aftercare is high, not just among DRV patients. The app is a great resource and a fantastic product.
